Circle of Trust

I am sure you have heard the saying before that people can either make us or break us, well it is so true. I have learnt over the years that to surround yourself with amazing people is both empowering and motivating. I call it my “Circle of Trust”, the people I value so much. I value their opinion, their advice, their leadership, their friendship, their honesty and their values.

So why do we hang on to people who bring us down, who don’t get us, maybe jealous of us, try to tell us all the reasons why we can’t…. instead of why we can. People who can be so cruel that a few words can almost render us paralysed. It’s because no one likes confrontation. It is uncomfortable to confront people or even to let them go from our lives, because we worry about the repercussions that may happen. I am by no means saying here that I want you to go and start firing people from your life, but what I am asking of you is to stop and think of everyone if your life, how they make you feel, do they back you and believe in you, do they encourage you to chase your dreams and to have a go. Do they make you feel powerful and full of energy when you see them?

This is a great time to choose a year of self-belief and confidence and for that to happen we need to learn to manage people into or out of our lives successfully. This can be in our business lives as well, often we hang on to dead wood way to long hoping and praying they will improve when really if we stop and listen to our gut instinct, it is telling us, it’s time for a change. It is time to put yourself first, surround yourself with great and inspiring people who will help you on your journey to successful you. I was always told by my dad to hang with people much smarter than I am, because it does rub off. And you know what if you take the time to sit and listen and ask the right questions, he was spot on. Just don’t be afraid to ask, I used to hold back for fear of asking the “Dumb Question” I missed so many amazing opportunities.

Some of my greatest learnings have come from people who I never thought I would get to hang with, and just because I had the courage to ask.

Here are a few key things to ask yourself about those people in your “Circle of Trust”

1/ Do they Inspire you to be the best you?
2/ Do they support you through the hard times and celebrate your wins?
3/ Do they give great advice to help you grow and succeed?
4/ Do they have your back?
5/ Do you have fun and laugh with them?
6/ Do you trust them?

Great people in your life means power to you, so choose wisely to get the growth and love in life you want and need to be the very best you. Create your dynamic “Circle of Trust and become unstoppable x
