SHINE’ing the Spotlight on… Zoë Sparks (Founder SHINE Business Women)

Zoë Sparks

Director – Spectacular Events Pty Ltd / Founder – SHINE Business Women

Known as a Travel Guru, Author, Speaker & Business Mentor, Zoë has over twenty-seven year’s experience within the travel industry, and after winning the prestigious “Traveland National Consultant of the Year” 1995/1996 award, she moved from Qld’s Sunshine Coast to Sydney to taken on the position of Conference Manager for Traveland Pty Ltd.

In 1998, Spectacular Events was launched, specialising in all aspects of Conference & Event Management and also corporate travel. This business was transferred to the Sunshine Coast in June 2000 and grew into three travel agency offices. The business went from strength to strength, being inducted into the 2005 Sunshine Coast Excellence Awards “Hall of Fame” after three award wins, a proven testament to the team’s dedication to the highest level of customer service, sales and commitment to delivering the ‘best itinerary at the right price.’

Six years ago the business was completely re-structured to move with the times, and Spectacular Events now focuses exclusively on Conference & Event Management and group travel, primarily corporate, school, sport and special interest tours.

Spectacular Events Pty Ltd celebrated it’s 20th Birthday on 6th June (two weeks ago!) and this is an achievement of which Zoë is immensely proud. This followed the inaugural SHINE Business Women’s Conference which was held on the Sunshine Coast on 1st & 2nd June, delivering professional and personal development of the highest level to over 160 business women, which was heralded a huge success and has set the templates for conferences to be rolled out in Sydney, Melbourne and Auckland in early 2019.

Zoë was recognised as a 2017 Regional Finalist in the IML Owner/Entrepreneur Leader of the Year awards. She is a former Sunshine Coast Outstanding Business Woman of the Year and also a two-time Qld Finalist in the Telstra Business Women’s Awards.

With a huge passion for small business, women in business and, reward and recognition, Zoë has also written three business books.  ‘Award & Reward’ completes her business trilogy and was released in May 2018, to accompany workshops that focus on ‘Preparing Winning Award Submissions & Successful Grant Applications’‘Strive & Thrive’  and ‘Healthy & Wealthy’  focus on tips to business success and ensuring that you and your business are performing at their best.

In her spare time, Zoë can usually be found on the rugby sidelines watching her two teenage boys (her greatest achievements!) or supporting her rugby-fanatic husband, or of course travelling the world!

So why SHINE Business Women?

In recent years, Zoë has mentored a number of business women and loves to ‘give back’ and share what she has learnt over the years. For a long time, Zoë has wanted to deliver education, tips and tricks, and to share stories of people’s success to high-level business professionals on a larger scale. Her books were the catalyst for this and have enabled her to reach a large number of people through her website, speaker events and workshops.

Having run conference events for major corporate, national companies for 20+ years, it made sense to take the next step and offer conferences of a similar standard to all women, whether they are corporate, professional, small business owners, managers or employees. The same goes for education, inspiration and motivation.

“I’m so excited to launch SHINE Business Women as it has been a goal in the pipeline for a number of years. To see it finally coming to fruition is fantastic! We had an amazing speaker line-up at our recent inaugural SHINE Business Women’s Conference on the Sunshine Coast and cannot wait to deliver this to Sydney, Melbourne and Auckland in early 2019. We shall again deliver an explosion of inspiration, learning and motivation of the highest level.”
